Updated: May 22, 2024

Are you looking for body moisturizer that not only hydrates your skin but also prioritize natural, non-toxic ingredients? I've investigated the ingredient lists of hundreds of moisturizes, and these are my top 5 completely non-toxic body moisturizer recommendations.

If you don't know me, my name is Sophia, and I find non-toxic products that you don't have to.

1. Vivvi & bloom Baby Face & Body Whip Lotion

Vivvi & bloom, Baby Lotion
Vivvi & bloom - Baby Lotion

This first one, bear with me here. This is a baby lotion, but I promise it is so good. My favorite part about this is that it's this whipped lotion, so it doesn't take a lot to effort rub it in.

This could totally be a me thing, but if a lotion takes a while to rub into my body, I get super lazy with it, it starts to annoy me and then I avoid doing it altogether. I also don't love when you have to really pull at your skin in order to have it absorb.

I love that when you put this on, you take one pass on your skin and it's already rubbed in your body. It's really light, but it's also very moisturizing. I have super dry skin, and this has been a godsend all winter long.

It's also a great price point at $7. I never feel guilty lathering up my entire body every single night because of how affordable it is.

These ingredients, derived from natural sources as per ISO 16128-1:2016 standards, work together to hydrate, nourish, and protect the skin, promoting a healthy and radiant complexion.

OSEA, Undaria Algae Body Oil

On the complete other end of the spectrum, if you want to splurge on yourself and invest in a super luxurious, oil-based moisturizer, this is the one for you.

If you know this brand, you know that their body oil is a Holy Grail product. It is heavenly. It makes you feel so dewy, so lush - like you just came out of a spa.

It also smells wonderful. The only downside here is that it is pricey. My sister has this in her bathroom, and I definitely use them every single time I go in there. (Cough, cough @OSEA can we give the people a discount code?)

3. Ancient Greek Remedy - Organic Face & Body Oil

While we're on the oils, my third recommendation is this ancient Greek Remedy Nature's Moisturizer.

It is so nice. You can use this on your skin, your hair, your nails, your cuticles. I use this several times a week for slugging on my skin. When I was traveling, I was putting this all over my body and was loving it.

It's definitely less easy to rub in than the OSEA Body Oil is, but it's $15, so it's a great price point and very versatile, so I'm sure you will find a use for it if you try it out. Another one of those products that just makes you feel like you just came out of a spa. I love this. Definitely try it.

  5. Grape Seed Oil: Lightweight and easily absorbed, grape seed oil is beneficial for tightening the skin, reducing the appearance of scars, and even helping with conditions like acne due to its anti-inflammatory properties.

4. Any Of The ATTITUDE Body Lotions

ATTITUDE, Dry Body Oil
ATTITUDE - Dry Body Oil

My fourth recommendation is any and all of the Attitude Body Lotions. Attitude is just such a solid brand. Every single thing on their website is completely 100% toxic. They sell everything from skincare, to makeup, to body care, to home cleaning products.

Everything is very affordable, too. They have 10 or 15 different options for body lotions alone. They have options for sensitive skin, for pregnant bellies, for kids. They have scents like white tea, lemon, orange, and pomegranate. They use anti-inflammatory and conditioning ingredients like chamomile, oatmeal, avocado oil, and argan oil.

Ingredients & Benefits (For the Dry Body Oil):

Each of these ingredients plays a specific role in benefiting the skin, ranging from hydration and protection to nourishment and overall skin health.

  1. Vitis vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil: Grape seed oil is rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, helping to hydrate the skin, reduce the signs of aging, and protect against free radicals.

  6. Octyldodecanol: This ingredient acts as an emollient, helping to soften and smooth the skin while preventing moisture loss.

  7. Octyldodecyl Myristate: With its lightweight texture, this ingredient helps to condition the skin, leaving it soft and supple without feeling greasy.

5. Primally Pure - Body Butter

Primely Pure - Body Butter

My last recommendation is this Primally Pure Body Butter. Again, everything that this brand makes is 100% toxin-free. This body butter has vitamins A, D, E, and K, so it's anti-aging, it's antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. It's literally everything you could want.

I also love a thicker body butter consistency if you're really trying to feel dewy and hydrated. They also say right on this listing page that this body butter only contains ingredients that are safe enough to eat, (which I wouldn't go eating this body butter, but it is a good point to prove that everything that they're using is super safe, super clean, and natural!)

I personally haven't tried this one. One of my friends swears by it, and it's definitely on my wishlist. I think I actually just convinced myself to get it right now.
